Mathonsi boasts a commendable track record in leadership and community engagement. As the former Deputy Chairperson of the Local Economic Development Cluster in the Madibeng Municipality, he led initiatives aimed at stimulating economic growth in the North West Province. His dedication to youth and community development was further exemplified during his tenure as Chairperson of the Sisonke Cooperative within the Maboloka Community Youth Development Programme. In 2011, Mr. Mathonsi enhanced his understanding of sustainability by participating in environmental wellness workshops in the Bojanala Platinum District Municipality, reinforcing his commitment to a greener future.
A Passion for Renewable Energy:
Motivated by a profound desire to address South Africa’s energy and environmental challenges, Mr. Mathonsi has identified key areas for intervention, including: Renewable Energy Solutions: Developing sustainable energy alternatives such as solar, hydrogen, and wind energy to alleviate load shedding and tackle the nation’s energy crisis.
Establishing strategic waste management systems that convert waste into valuable resources, thereby reducing the prevalence of illegal landfills and dumping sites. Economic and Social Upliftment: Promoting job creation and poverty alleviation through green initiatives that empower communities and enhance economic resilience.
