The plot focuses on Cécile, a young woman who spends her summer in a villa in the south of France with her widowed father Raymond and his newest love, Elsa. Their life is one of harmony, a world of ease and languor. This is a great film about relationships, in this case, somewhat complicated relationships. Very well written, shot and acted. Romantic and veiled setting on the southern coast of France. Interesting character studies. All the actors do a great job, but Chloe Sévigny takes on the most difficult role and plays it brilliantly, walking the line between likeable and dislikeable, loving and dislikable, caring and dislikable. The plot is quite simple. There is a twist in it that stretches things a bit, but it is nevertheless believable, definitely interesting and keeps us interested. Interesting dialogue and a catchy soundtrack.
