Season 1 covers the first 30 chapters of the book "Wool" - there are 82 chapters in the book
Synopsis
The men and women live in a giant underground silo with a series of regulations that they believe will protect them from a toxic and destroyed surface. Whether they're exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are all about science fiction.

but fail miserably at that
The first couple of episodes were so good they had me glued to my chair, but from then on they stopped advancing the plot, they just keep going with these obscure side stories that are supposed to connect you to a particular character and form a deeper connection with them. It feels like they don't have a long enough plot so they try to stretch the episodes starting from season 1.
At this point I'm not sure we'll even finish the season, we're one filler episode away from forgetting everything
You can afford 3 filler episodes in a row in a 15-20 episode long season, but when you choose 10 episodes per season and eat half of it up with filler pages, it becomes downright boring. My wife went "oh my god, a new episode of Silo is coming out, goooo, get the home theater ready, I'm going to go get some snacks" "Hey Silo" is out, do you want to watch it?
Edit: The review above was written after episode 5, my faith in the show has been restored now after episode 7
